The Sky’s Edge

Elara traced the intricate patterns of scales on the worn leather of her father’s journal. Each curve, each ridge, whispered stories of a time when the sky belonged to them – the Dragon Riders.

Her people had once soared through the clouds, their companions magnificent creatures of fire and shadow. But the dragons, once wild and untamed, had become a threat, their power a weapon in the hands of the greedy. Now, they were caged, their riders outlawed, their very existence a whispered secret.

Elara, however, dreamt of freedom. She dreamt of the wind whipping through her hair, of the roar of a dragon beneath her, of a world beyond the suffocating grip of the Council. She spent her days studying ancient texts, deciphering forgotten flight patterns, and honing her skills with a makeshift spear.

One day, while exploring the forbidden ruins of an old training ground, she stumbled upon a hidden cavern. Deep within, nestled amongst the crumbling pillars, lay a dragon. Not a monstrous beast, but a creature of grace and intelligence, its eyes ancient and wise.

Fear warred with exhilaration. This was no mere legend. This was real. And it looked at her, not with aggression, but with a curious, almost… understanding.

Elara knew then that her destiny was sealed. The path ahead was perilous, filled with danger and uncertainty. But she would not be denied. She would reclaim the sky, one flight at a time.
