Dust and Time
The old man coughed, a hacking sound that rattled the dust-filled room. Sunlight, weak and filtered through grimy windows, barely illuminated the cluttered space. He ran a trembling hand over a stack of yellowed books, their leather bindings cracked and brittle.
A sudden gust of wind sent a cloud of dust swirling through the air, and he sneezed, his frail body shaking. He was alone, a solitary figure in a world long forgotten. The only sound was the ticking of an antique clock, its rhythmic pulse a stark contrast to the stillness of the room.
